Muskoka Has Been Selected for Broadband Case Study
CASE STUDIES ANNOUNCED!
Broadband NOW Forum - Registrations now open.
Back in March, the Chambers across Muskoka advocated for the creation of a Muskoka Economic Recovery Task Force (MERTF). This committee has been formed and our Executive Director, Brenda Rhodes sits on the Committee as the representative for all of the Chambers. One of the major fundamental issues that was identified by the committee as a major barrier for our community is Broadband. MERTF created a subcommittee (which Brenda also sits on, along with all the Economic Development Officers across the region) to start to work through the broadband issues for Muskoka.
There have been great advancements from this committee - one of which is that we are working together to make sure Muskoka is ready for any funding that may come from any level of government. The Broadband Committee realized that there was an opportunity to submit an application to be used as a case study for the Broadband Now Forum being held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. We are thrilled that Muskoka has been selected!
We encourage you to attend the conference to hear The Broadband NOW panel of P3 and technology experts will describe how Muskoka and Kenora District can use the P3 model to finance and operationalize their own networks efficiently and expeditiously - insight that will be valuable for all communities across Canada.
