Gas Bar Attendants will be responsible for the sale of fuel and other automotive products, as well as all in-store merchandise, including tobacco, lottery products, sundries. Person working in the shift will be responsible to ensure customer are following proper fueling procedures.
All duties will be performed with a consistently high focus on customer service.
The key skill requirements are as follows:
Must have strong negotiation, judgment, decision making, problem solving, communication and listening skill.
Must be punctual on time and able to work on highly flexible shift including day, afternoon, nights, weekend and holidays.
Able to work with ethics and integrity, accountability and dependability in team work environment.
Candidate should be customer focus and quality oriented and having a knowledge of operating equipment’s.
Must able to work multi task, have to ability to work in friendly team environment with minimum supervision.
JOB DUTIES
Greet customers entering establishments and upselling product.
Answer customers’ questions and Receive payment from customers.
Ensure that restricted products (e.g. tobacco, lottery) are sold and redeem only to customers that are of the required age by requesting appropriate identification.
Perform minor property maintenance duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, washing, forward facing merchandise, cleaning washroom, removing garbage from canopy/pump/parking lot/landscape area, shoveling snow from door way, walkway etc.
Cleaning car wash mechanical room, bay, in /out of the bay, refill/replace cleaning chemical as required
Receive inventory and count it by matching on delivery slip and/or invoice.
Provide accurate directions to customer where possible.
Compute and record totals of transactions. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and matching with reports. Ensure that there is adequate change/cash in register.
Establish or identify prices of goods and services, and tabulate and calculate bills from cash registers, or optical price scanners.
Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
Resolve customer complaints.
Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.
Stock shelves, cooler/freezer and mark prices on items as and when required.
Change fuel prices on signage and on pumps as direction given by management.
Other duties assigned by management from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have own transportation.
Must be able to provide reference and/or police clearance (background check) certificate.
Customer service and/or retail experience preferred
Keep and maintain professional personality thorough out shift.
Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
